Weigh your Candle Bags Down
You will need to add ballast to the bottom of your candle bags, to prevent them moving or blowing away when used outdoors. For this you can use dry sand or small pebbles. About 2.5 to 3 cms of ballast should be enough to keep your candle bags in place.
Adding the light source
A tea light makes an idea light source. If you do not wish to use a naked flame, you can also buy battery operated tea lights from our shop.
Whilst your candle bags are made from flame retardant paper, you do not want the naked flame to come in to contact with the bag. This is where your ballast also comes in handy. Place your unlit tea light in the centre of the ballast and as far away as possible from the sides of the bag. You can push your tea light down slightly to embed it in the ballast, or build a few pebbles around it, to hold it in place.
Lighting the flame
Take great care when lighting the flame in your candle bag. We recommend you use one of the long reach lighters that are readily available and often used to light BBQ’s etc. You will also need to consider the tea light burn time, before lighting the flame.
We hope you have found this useful.
